Hints & Tips when storing Furniture & Appliances.

Large Items
Large items such as wardrobes, cabinets, tall boys & ect should be completely empty and disassembled if possible. This will help minimising storage space and help ease the transportation of items.
Heavy Items
Heavy items such as whitegoods, tables, drawers and dressers should be stored at the bottom on your piles and around the edges of the unit.
Electronics

Electrical goods such as TV, computers and printers should be on top of heavy items with a blanket/ protective cover to help eliminate dust. To ensure they wont be damaged make sure the cords are secure and not loose.

Appliances

Appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers should be stored with their door left ajar to deter mildew. To avoid damage, cover the appliances with a breathable sheet to ensure no dirt and dust can collect. Face the glass doors and panel against the walls of the unit to protect against damage.

Glass and Breakables

Glass and breakables should be wrapped separately in packing paper or newspaper, use the packing paper to to fill the empty spaces in the boxes. Labeled the boxes as”fragile” and never stack these items underneath heavy items.

Furniture

Furniture should not be placed directly on the floor, use sheets or tarps to cushion the items. Make sure to vacuum all items to get rid of any food crumbs to best preserve and not entice vermin.
