For us, storage is personal
Renovating can be stressful
– we can help.
Space to work
Ensuring you have a clutter free space at the very beginning of your project will contribute to its success, whether it’s a fresh lick of paint or something bigger. Clearing your space ensures your items are safe from paint spills, dust and any other wayward damage that might happen during renovating.
Make a list
Renovations are a great time to take stock of what you have and what you no longer require. Take a mini-inventory of all your possessions and sort into three piles – keep on hand, store and donate. Donate what you no longer need, and when you’re finished renovating the items you’ve got in storage will be clean and ready to fit right back in.
Pack before you paint
The easiest way to make your renovations less daunting is to move/pack up each room one day at a time. Places to store your items could include a garage, spare room or here at our place! Pro-tip: use colour when labelling the boxes from each room so you can remember what box needs to go where when you are finished with your renos.
Keep things safe
Packing up should be your first step when beginning any renos – it’s best to put away your possessions before the dust and paint situation gets too real. When you’re packing up your items, ensure you use plenty of bubble wrap or packing paper to keep things safe. Take photos of any complicated electrical set-ups for easy reinstallation when you’ve finished and use zip lock bags to keep hold of any screws or bolts (tape them to the relevant equipment so they stay together).
